Reflection

After reading this book, I felt as if I'm in the events of the story that happened to Tom. For example, during Tom's escape to the hill, I can touched Tom's feeling  of how tried he was. Though the main moral lessons are treat others as you wish to be treated by, and how to gain a self-control to help someone who mistreated you; I like the part that Kingsley wrote:
How do you know that? Have you been there to see? And if you had been there to see, and had seen none, that would not prove that there were none ... And no one has a right to say that no water babies exist till they have seen no water babies existing, which is quite a different thing, mind, from not seeing water babies.

This essay give me an idea that; If you never seen something before, it doesn't prove that no such thing exists. I never heard of this idea before, after I read this essay; I contemplated about this and realized that this idea is reasonable.

There's one thing that I don't really like about this book; the way that Kingsley named the underwater creatures is way too simple such as: water-monkey, water-squirrels, etc. I think he should think of remarkable names for those water creatures.

When I read this book, I learned how to perceive a deeper meaning by the events and thoughts of characters. 'The Water Babies' is a great literature that I would like to recommended you to read.

Main Character's goals and dreams

Tom's goal is to travels to the end of the world to help Mr. Grimes where he is being punished for his misdeeds. Tom must helps him to find repentance, he will be given a second chance .
Tom dreamed that he would be a master sweep and give up on chimney sweeping job. Imagining that he would sit in the public-house with a quart of beer and a long pipe like Mr. Grimes did. Tom would play cards for silver money, dressing up with fine clothing,
For Tom's movtivation is to learn lessons that Mrs.Doasyouwouldbedoneby and Mrs. Be donebyasyoudid expected Tom to learn. By proving his willingness to do things he does not like, if they are the right things to do, Tom returns to human form.

The Water Babies summary # 3

Sir John, the Harthover masion's owner who hired Mr. Grimes to do chimney sweeping at his masion, regretted and blamed himself bitterly for being the cause for Tom had lost in the wilderness.  At Tom's side of the story, he was cleaner and happier than he was before; now he forgot his old toubles, being tried, hungry, or beaten by his own master. At the water world Tom observed the environment, he saw some weird creatures that doesn't exist on the land that he used to live.

Soon Tom had learned the water world language. Unfortunately, he was very fond of hunting and teasing animals. The water animals soon stay away from Tom and he becomes very lonely, until he happens upon a dragonfly, who becomes his friend and tells him stories. Some of the water-creatures, however, are not so pleasant. He crosses paths with an otter and her family, who are intent on 'salmon for breakfast'. Later, he comes across them again, when he tries to help a 'clumsy' lobster who has been caught in a fisherman's pot. The otter wants the lobster for dinner too!

After a close escape helping the lobster, Tom almost immediately comes across a fellow water-baby - 'A real live water-baby, sitting on the white sand.' They meet and Tom finds his whole 'water-baby' family and is taken to their home - St. Brandan's fairy isle. The water-babies in this chapter are shown to be 'all the little children whom the fairies carry off because people are not kind to them in the land-world'.

SPECTATOR SPORT: One evening with Sugaroma

Sugaroma’s name comes from sugar plus aroma. It is a sweet-looking café that is decorated with garnish pink and lavender purple furnitures. On March 3, 2011 I pay Sugaroma a first visit since it was my best friend’s birthday. When I step into the café, I smelled a tinge of sweet aroma of desserts. The extensive lists of cakes in the counter display look appetizing. The waitress, who stood behind the counter, gave us a welcoming smile. All of these things give a comfortable atmosphere. Luckily, there is no customer in Sugaroma so my friends and I decided to take a seat on the sofa  spot in the corner of the café. Some of my friends go for cheese cake. Some ordered ham-cheese sandwiches. It’s hard for me to decide which menu should I order, but since it was my first time to Sugaroma. I ordered a brownie with whipping cream.

While we are waiting for the desserts, I took the chance to observe around the café. The music that was playing suits the atmosphere today. I felt relaxed. My friends was giggling and chattering about fashion magazines.  A waitress came and served two slices of chocolate truffle cake, hot ham-cheese sandwiches, and my brownie with whipping cream. I started to cut the brownie with a silver, small fork.  I tasted a morsel of brownie. It tasted wonderful; the brownie was rich in chocolate flavor. For the whipping cream I don’t really like it since it was too sweet. When everyone was done with their dessert, we sat for a while, taking photo as memorial and facebooking using their phone.

When the black clouds were coming, we decided to take our leave around 4 o’clock.  By the time we reach EIS, the rain started to drizzle.  One by one, my friends started to went home. My parents pick me around 5 o’clock. My younger sister asked about today, I told her about Sugaroma and she’s interested to visit Sugaroma with her friend. The cold rain was drizzling all the way until I reached my home. I looked up in the ash gray sky and planned to go to Sugaroma again tomorrow.

The word that describe me

Actually there're plenty of words that could describe me like humorous, complicated, futuristic, imaginative, adventurous, and etc. But if you ask for a specific word that describe me best, then it would be "tidy".  First I would like to tell the defition,  tidy is orderly and neat in appearance or procedure. I love tidiness because I believed that if everything is organized things would be easy in my life. I even think about how should I arrange my house when I grew up. Like how many plates should I have in my home? How often should I clean my room? Do I need air refreshener for my closet?

When I see something that is not in proper place, like a towel lay on a sofa, I would immediately pick it up and lay it on a shower towel bar in the bathroom. I often clean my room two times a week. I like to organize things in my bag, my closet, my pencil case, and etc. For example, I organize clothes in my closet by it colors, types of clothes, my school uniform, and at the bottom of closet there is a basket of eis socks.

For the benefit of being tidy is it helps me to do things in my daily life easily. I don't need to take time in finding a pair of socks or finding a pen when I need to take down notes. This is how I loved to be tidy and orgainize.
